The agroforestry project by SayTrees involves a holistic approach to working with farmers to address the challenges linked to soil degradation and poor productivity. The project entails agroforestry models involving tree plantation on farmlands and training farmers on climate-resilient agriculture practices to help restore degraded croplands, combat desertification, improve soil health and develop new sources of income.
The agroforestry project by SayTrees with the small & marginal farmers of semi-arid & arid regions will involve capacity building through onsite training & demonstrations to transition from the existing chemical agricultural practices to multilayer natural farming practices. High-Quality Fruit & Timber Saplings are distributed to the farmers after thorough background checks which are planted on the farmlands by the farmers and maintained for their lifetime. SayTrees assists the farmers in tackling all the challenges through experts & consultants
The objectives for the project are
Objective 1: To increase the green cover outside forest areas and improve soil health & biodiversity & carbon sequestration through agroforestry.
Objective 2: Enabling farmers from chemical farming to sustainable farming practices.
Objective 3: Providing farmers with additional livelihood opportunities
